Substantial Archive of Local Maps

Woodbridge Museum are delighted to have received a substantial archive of local maps donated by the Natural History Museum, London & University of East Anglia, Norwich.

The maps range from 1905 to 1960s and are in excellent condition. The museum is indebted to the Friends of Woodbridge Museum who have agreed to purchase a second map chest so that this valuable archive can be stored properly. The photograph is a small section of a map, (6”to 1mile scale), showing St Audrey’s with the hospital marked “County Asylum”. This is now the site of the Melton Park residential development although some of the original hospital buildings remain.
